Health officials on Thursday said they recorded 411 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts and death of three persons in the past 24 hours.
“We recorded deaths of three dengue patients in 24 hours ending at 8am today,” a spokesman of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, adding his office simultaneously recorded 411 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts during the same period.
According to the DGHS statistics, three died in the area with the purview of the Dhaka South City Corporation.
Out of the 411 fresh cases, 50 were hospitalized in Barisal division, 61 in Chittagong division, 56 in Dhaka division excluding capital, 70 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 99 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 26 in Khulna division, 20 in Mymensingh division, 21 in Rajshahi division, two in Rangpur division and six in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year witnessed 404 deaths, while the disease inflicted 99,493.
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 101,214 people in the country.
