Members of RAB-12 Bogra Company recovered 30 kilogrammes of fireworks and 550 grammes of gunpowder in raids at Maltinagar Bokshibazar and Bhatkandi in Bogra on Sunday night. Three firework traders were arrested during the operation.
RAB-12 Company Commander Squadron Leader Firoz Ahmed disclosed the information in a press release on Monday afternoon.
The arrested are Shahinur Islam Sajib, 35, son of late Abdul Motaleb of Rahmannagar in Bogra town; Khairul Islam, 40, son of Abul Kashem of Chakla village in Gabtali upazila; and Abdul Malek Mondol, 45, son of Shamsul Mondol of Bhatkandi Madhyapara under Bogra municipality.
The RAB officer said the three detainees were handed over to Sadar Police Station for further legal action, and a case has been filed there against them.
Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Hasan Basir said the three arrested firework traders have been sent to Bogra District Jail through the court.
