At least 42 people were rescued from a burning building at Jamela Tower in Babu Bazar, Keraniganj on Saturday morning, according to the fire service.
The fire broke out at around 5:30am, said fire service official Anwar Hossain.
A total of 14 units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence are working to bring the blaze under control, he added.
However, no information was immediately available regarding the cause of the fire or any casualties.
