From 8am Friday to 8am Saturday, a total of 792 new dengue patients were admitted to various hospitals across the country, while five deaths were recorded.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the data in a press release issued by its Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room on Saturday.

In the past 24 hours, 125 patients were admitted in the Barisal division (outside the city corporation areas), 136 in the Chittagong division (within the city corporation), and 107 in the Dhaka division (outside the city corporation areas). Within Dhaka city, 226 patients were detected in the Dhaka North City Corporation and 121 in the Dhaka South City Corporation. Meanwhile, 60 patients were detected in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation areas), 15 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation areas), and 2 in Sylhet division (outside the city corporation areas).

All five deaths reported in the past 24 hours occurred in the Dhaka North City Corporation. Among them, three patients died at Mugda Medical College Hospital and two at the Dhaka North City Dedicated Covid-19 Hospital.

Age-based data show that among male patients, admissions were highest in the 21–30 age group. For female patients, the highest admission rate was among those aged 16–25 years. By sex distribution, 63.9% of admitted patients were male and 36.1% were female.

Since January this year, a total of 83,858 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide. During the same period, dengue deaths have reached 331.
