Metro rail services on the Uttara–Agargaon–Uttara section have resumed after remaining suspended for nearly two and a half hours.

However, operations on the Agargaon–Motijheel–Agargaon section are still halted.

An official source from the metro rail authority confirmed the development to Dhaka Tribune around 3pm on Sunday.

According to sources, train services on the Uttara–Motijheel route were suspended from 12:30pm after a bearing pad fell from a pillar and killed a pedestrian, Abul Kalam.

Later, operations resumed on the Uttara–Agargaon–Uttara section at 2:58pm.

Meanwhile, work is ongoing to restore services on the Agargaon–Motijheel–Agargaon route.

Abul Kalam was a resident of Shariatpur.
