Noted women’s rights activist Roushan Jahan has passed away.

She breathed her last on Tuesday at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.

She was the author of several books on women’s empowerment, including a new translation of Begum Rokeya’s “Sultana’s Dream.”

She was active in many organizations, including Women for Women, Mahila Parishad, Ain o Salish Kendra, and BGS.

She was married to the late Professor Muzaffar Ahmad.

She is survived by one daughter, two sons, and three grandchildren.

Her Janaza prayers will be held on Thursday, after Zohr prayers at Azad Mosque in Gulshan.
