Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Toufiq Islam Shatil met with expatriate Bangladeshis living in Busan and Gyeongnam on Saturday.

The ambassador was welcomed by a representative from the local mayor’s office in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, on the occasion.

In his remarks, Ambassador Shatil highlighted the government’s efforts — including those of the Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul — to enhance consular and welfare services for expatriates and to facilitate the arrival of more Bangladeshi workers and students in South Korea.

Bangladeshi community leaders, EPS and E-7 workers, and students from various universities shared their views and recommendations during the meeting.

The ambassador listened to their concerns and assured them that the embassy would take necessary measures to address specific issues.

He also spoke about government initiatives to enable expatriates to vote in the upcoming national elections and urged them to contact the embassy without hesitation for assistance.

The ambassador called on expatriates to uphold Bangladesh’s image in Korea.

Commercial Counsellor Md Nazmul Haque of the Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul was also present.

After the meeting, the ambassador visited a mosque run by local expatriates.
