The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has once again increased the price of jet fuel used in aircraft.

For November, the price for domestic flights has been raised from Tk99.29 to Tk100.24 per liter, while the rate for international flights has gone up from $0.6545 to $0.6604 per liter.

BERC announced the new rates in a press release issued on Sunday, stating that the revised prices will take effect from Monday.

In October, jet fuel prices for domestic flights rose from Tk96.09 to Tk99.29 per liter, and for international flights from $0.6333 to $0.6545 per liter. In September, however, prices had been reduced — from Tk99.66 to Tk96.09 per liter for domestic flights, and from $0.6502 to $0.6333 per liter for international flights.

It may be noted that the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) imports jet fuel, while Padma Oil Limited serves as the sole distributor to airlines.

According to airline data, the country’s daily demand for jet fuel is around 9,000 barrels.
