A 10-foot-long python, weighing 15 kilograms, has been released into the dense forest of Kaptai National Park in Rangamati. This was confirmed by Kaptai Range Officer of the Forest Department, Omar Faruq Swadhin.

The python, rescued under the instructions of the Divisional Forest Officer of the Chittagong Hill Tracts South Forest Division, was released into Kaptai National Park today. Kaptai Range Officer Omar Faruq Swadhin, Baraichhari Inspection Camp Officer S.M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Ram Pahar Beat Officer Mithu Talukdar, Shuknachhari Beat Officer Abdullah Al Naeem, Sunayan Dewan, Kaptai Press Club President Kabir Hossain, and local residents Kabirul Islam and Nazrul Islam and other forest department staff were present on the occasion.

Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Rangamati Sadar Range, said that the python had been caught in a net in the yard of Indu Bikash Talukdar’s house on Kalindpur Road, Rangamati Sadar, today. After receiving the information, the Forest Department rescued the 10-foot-long python with the help of local residents and handed it over to the Kaptai Forest Division for its release into the forests.
