In Mymensingh’s Fulbaria upazila, unidentified miscreants set fire to a bus belonging to Alam Asia Paribahan in the Valukjan area, leaving the driver, Julhas Mia, 35, dead.
The incident occurred around 3:15am on Tuesday.
Fulbaria police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rokonuzzaman said that a group of Awami League activists set fire to the bus in the Valukjan area of Fulbaria upazila headquarters early Monday.
The vehicle was completely burnt and the driver, who was inside the bus at the time, was charred to death on the spot.
He added that the body has been recovered and brought to the police station compound, while drives are underway to arrest those involved.
