A police vehicle caught fire in front of Ramna police station in the capital on Wednesday morning.
The fire was not an act of sabotage but occurred while the vehicle was being repaired, said Ramna Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Faruk.
He said the fire broke out around 11am when the vehicle’s battery suddenly short-circuited. The flames were later brought under control, and no casualties were reported.
“The fire was caused by a mistake of the vehicle’s mechanic,” the OC added.
