Mohammad Alam Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gazipur.
To this effect, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on Thursday (13 November). The notification was signed by Aminul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.
On 8 November, Azad Jahan was appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur. But before assuming the post, he was transferred to the Ministry of Water Resources.
Mohammad Alam Hossain (16126) is an officer of the 27th batch of the BCS Administration cadre. He joined the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education as Deputy Secretary on 21 October 2025. Before this, he was promoted from Senior Assistant Commissioner to Deputy Secretary on 7 March 2021. He is a resident of Mymensingh district.
Earlier, outgoing Gazipur DC Nafisa Arefin had already been transferred to the Secondary and Higher Education Division as Deputy Secretary.
