A magistrate court on Saturday placed Limon Mia on a five-day remand in the killing of the judge’s son after intruding into the resident at Terakhadia area in Rajshahi on Thursday last.

Around 2:30pm on Saturday, police produced Limon before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court seeking a seven-day remand. After hearing, Magistrate Mamunur Rashid granted a five-day remand. Subsequently, he was taken to the Rajpara police station.

On the other hand, the court issued a show cause notice to the commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, Abu Sufian, for allowing Limon to speak to the media in police custody.

The notice asked him to submit his reply before the court in person on Wednesday.

On November 13, Limon chopped Tawsif Rahman Suman, 16, son of Abdur Rahman, a metropolitan session judge, to death and wounded his wife in the Terakhadia area.
