The investigation officer (IO) in a case lodged against 17 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana, over irregularities in the allocation of a Rajuk plot, on Sunday submitted her deposition.
Assistant Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Afnan Jannat Keya submitted her deposition at Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 and was later cross-examined by the defence. As the cross-examination remained incomplete till the end of Sunday’s proceedings, Judge Robiul Alam adjourned the hearing till Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, the defence finished cross-examining the complainant and ACC Deputy Director Salahuddin.
According to the case documents, ACC Deputy Director Salahuddin filed the case on January 13, 2025, against 15 people, including Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Radwan Mujib Siddiq, Tulip Siddiq, and Azmina Siddiq. The IO, after probing, filed the charge-sheet against 17 on March 10.
Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 on July 31 framed charges in three cases filed in this connection. On the same day, the Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 framed charges in three other identical cases.
