A discussion session on building a data-driven New Bangladesh was held in Thakurgaon under the theme “Let’s Change the Country, Let’s Change the World.”
The event was jointly organized by the District Administration and the District Information Office on Sunday afternoon in the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Room.
The session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana. Also present were Additional Deputy Commissioners Sardar Mostafa Shahin (Development and Human Resource Management), Bulbul Ahmed (Revenue), Mehnaz Ferdous (Education and Information Technology), Additional District Magistrate Golam Ferdous, and senior officials from various government departments.
At the session, District Information Officer H.M. Shahjahan Mia delivered the keynote presentation, highlighting key issues such as the expansion of quality education, prevention of child marriage, drug eradication, and the proper use of information technology to build a youth-driven Bangladesh.
Speakers emphasized that in the digital era, data-based decision-making is essential to create a developed, transparent, and accountable state. They underlined the importance of equipping young people with technological skills, raising awareness, addressing social disparities, and taking coordinated action. The speakers further stressed the need for the combined efforts of families, educational institutions, and the administration to guide the current generation towards the effective use of information and innovative thinking.
The session concluded with an open discussion on ways to promote data-driven development and actively engage the youth in nation-building.
