The expatriate voter registration app “Postal Vote BD” will be launched on Tuesday evening, said Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah on Monday.

He said this during the concluding remarks of the third day of the EC’s dialogue with registered political parties on the occasion of the 13th National Parliamentary Election at the conference room of the Nirbachan Bhaban in the city’s Agargaon. 

Sanaullah said: “Tomorrow (Tuesday) we will launch the voting app for expatriate Bangladeshis. We are launching this voting app tomorrow (Tuesday) evening in coordination with global time for the convenience of expatriates.”

He said: “If we have 14 million expatriate Bangladeshis, it will be 7-8% of our population. We expect our expatriate voter turnout to be higher than that of other countries.”

He requested political parties to encourage expatriate voters to register.

EC Secretariat Director (Public Relations) and Information Officer Md Ruhul Amin Mollik told BSS that Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will inaugurate the “Postal Vote BD” mobile app for voter registration of expatriate Bangladeshis at the auditorium of the Election Commission Bhaban at 6pm on Tuesday.
