Kazi Mahadi Muntasir has been selected as a mentor for the Talent Campus of the upcoming 43rd Fajr International Film Festival making him the only Bangladeshi to be chosen in the mentor category this year.

Alongside him, three students from the University of Dhaka have also been selected to take part in the prestigious program. They will have the opportunity to sharpen their skills in an international environment, learning under the guidance of acclaimed filmmakers, seasoned mentors, and noted film scholars from across the globe.

Muntasir currently serves in the Department of Journalism and Media Communication at Green University of Bangladesh, where he works at the intersection of film technology and creative academic development.

The Talent Campus draws students annually from countries including Iran, the United States, France, Indonesia, Turkiye, Italy, Russia, China, and Japan, and is regarded as one of the most significant film education events in the Middle East.

This year’s festival is being hosted in Shiraz the historic city known as the birthplace of celebrated poets Sheikh Saadi and Hafez, often described as Iran’s cultural capital.

The theme for the 2025 edition, “The Union of Poetry in Cinema,” aims to explore the deep synergy between poetic expression and filmmaking.

The participation of a Bangladeshi mentor alongside young Bangladeshi students is being seen as a notable recognition of the country’s growing capabilities in global film and media education.
