An e-car service has been launched on the Rajshahi University (RU) campus to ease students’ transport sufferings. Around 10:00am on Wednesday, five e-cars were inaugurated in front of Administration Building-1.
The project has been implemented on the initiative of the Rajshahi University Alumni Association (RUAA). RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Saleh Hasan Naqib and RUAA President Mawlana Rafiqul Islam Khan formally inaugurated the service.
According to the transport office, the e-cars will run on six routes from 8:30am to 4:30pm and on five routes from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. The fare has been fixed at Tk 5 per trip on each route.
Among others, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Main Uddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr Farid Uddin Khan, RUAA General Secretary and Syndicate Member Professor Dr Nizam Uddin, Transport Office Administrator Professor Dr Abdur Razzak, RUAA Organizing Secretary Emajuddin Mondol, Executive Member Nurul Islam Bulbul, senior university officials, and representatives from RUAA, RUCSU and hall unions were present at the inaugural event.
