The Bangladesh High Commission in Colombo has expressed concern over the ongoing severe weather in Sri Lanka and the plight of Bangladeshi tourists stranded in affected areas.

In an emergency notice issued Friday, the high commission said it is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with Sri Lankan authorities to ensure tourists’ safety.

The notice advised stranded or distressed Bangladeshi tourists to contact the high commission via emergency hotlines: +94 71 760 6394 and +94 71 368 0461.

Tourists were urged to remain calm, stay inside hotels, homes, or safe shelters, and follow instructions from local authorities and disaster management agencies. “Your safety is our utmost priority,” the notice said.
