BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s health condition remains unchanged, with her treatment continuing as before.
Expressing optimism, her personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said: “We hope she will recover with continued medical care. She will be taken abroad if her condition improves and the medical board recommends it.”
Zahid made the statements while speaking to journalists during a briefing outside Evercare Hospital at around 9 p.m. on Saturday.
He added that BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman has been closely monitoring Khaleda Zia’s treatment and giving instructions. Alongside the local medical board, her care is being supervised by Dr Zubaida Rahman and doctors from the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, China, and several other countries.
Reiterating the possibility of treatment abroad, Dr Zahid said: “She would be taken abroad once her condition improves and the medical board advises such a move.”
He also urged top political figures, BNP leaders, and activists at all levels not to gather around the hospital, so that Khaleda Zia’s treatment and that of other patients could continue without disruption.
