Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), one of the country’s oldest and pioneering voluntary organizations in the film society movement, announced its new executive committee on Sunday, with Rehnuma Shahreen elected president and Sumantta Sarker Arpon elected general secretary.
Rehnuma is a student of the Printing and Publication Studies Department, while Sumantta is from the Political Science Department of the 2019–20 academic session.
The new committee also includes Mohammad Israt Abu Toimur as vice president, Nuzhat Jahan Nuha as assistant general secretary, and Abdullah Al Amin Khan Siam as treasurer.
DUFS is widely recognized for organizing “Amar Bhashar Chalachchitra,” the largest film festival dedicated to Bangla-language cinema, along with the International Inter University Short Film Festival, which showcases works by student filmmakers from around the world.
