Md Arefin Jewel, BPM, has joined as the new superintendent of police (SP) in Satkhira. He has replaced outgoing Superintendent of Police Mohammad Monirul Islam.
Earlier, Md Arefin Jewel served as the superintendent of police of Khagrachhari. Hailing from Daulatpur in Kushtia district, he was a meritorious student of the Department of Chemistry at Dhaka University and began his career as an assistant superintendent of police after passing the 25th BCS examination.
Md Arefin Jewel, who has obtained a postgraduate degree, previously served in Khulna as assistant superintendent of police, and in Chittagong Metropolitan Police, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, and the Ukhiya camp.
Father of one daughter and one son, the newly appointed Superintendent of Police, Md. Arefin Jewel, said that his posting in Satkhira has been made in accordance with the government’s directives ahead of the upcoming national election.
He expressed his firm commitment to maintaining law and order in the district and helping hold the fair national election. He also sought the cooperation of political leaders, journalists, officials concerned, and people of all professions in this regard.
When new Superintendent of Police Md Arefin Jewel arrived at Satkhira Circuit House on Saturday night, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md Mukid Hasan Khan and other senior police officials welcomed him with a bouquet.
