A 20-year-old farmer, Sohel, was found murdered with his throat slit in Belgachhi of Chuadanga municipality on Tuesday.

Sohel, son of Ashraful Haque from Bokchorpara in Belgachhi, worked in agriculture.

Local BNP leader Sirajul Islam said the killing may have stemmed from personal enmity or a previous dispute, though the exact motive would be confirmed through investigation.

Sohel’s father alleged that his son had a recent quarrel with two locals — Faruk, son of Taher, and Harun — over breaking a guava branch in their orchard. He said Faruk had previously threatened to kill Sohel and accused him of carrying out the murder.

Inspector Khaledur Rahman of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station said initial evidence suggests the killing was linked to previous hostility. He added that the investigation is underway with utmost importance.
