Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) is set to organize a three-day theatre festival to mark Victory Day.
The event, titled “Victory to Victory Theatre Festival 2025”, will be held at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Musaddiq Ali Ibne Mohammad, Ducsu’s cultural and literature affairs secretary, stated that the festival will feature multiple plays centered on the Liberation War. Notably, a special production will be staged that bridges the inspiration of two historic movements—the Liberation War of 1971 and the mass uprising of July 2024. The objective is to showcase the spirit of sacrifice from 1971 alongside the consciousness awakened by the recent mass movement.
Musaddiq noted that during the July uprising, people drew heavily on the inspiration of the Liberation War, often listening to Liberation War songs to keep their morale high throughout the movement.
He added that several prominent theatre groups from outside the university will participate, in addition to various theatre troupes from Dhaka University.
