Temperatures have dropped across various parts of the country over the past few days, bringing a deeper spell of winter. Dhaka is experiencing the same trend.

Although daytime conditions remain slightly warm, temperatures in the capital fall noticeably at dawn and after sunset, increasing the overall chill.

On Thursday morning, Dhaka’s temperature fell to 16°C — the lowest recorded so far this season.

As the cold becomes more perceptible, residents are increasingly turning to winter clothing during the early morning and evening hours. Fog intensity has also risen slightly at dawn.

In its six-hour forecast from 7am Thursday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said the sky would remain clear and the weather would be mostly dry. Winds may blow from the north and northwest at speeds of 6 to 12 km/h. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.

The department further reported that at 6am on Thursday, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 16.3°C with 90% humidity.
