Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum, the Election Commission (EC) has decided to appoint executive magistrates to ensure compliance with the code of conduct from the day after the announcement of the election schedule until two days after the voting.

The EC has sent a letter to the Ministry of Public Administration to take necessary steps regarding these appointments.

On Thursday, the Election Commission sent this letter to the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.

The letter, signed by EC Deputy Secretary Md Monir Hossain, states that for the national election, a decision has been made to appoint at least two executive magistrates in each upazila or police station under the Mobile Court Act, 2009, to ensure enforcement of the code of conduct from the day after the schedule announcement until two days after the polling.
