Ace Bangladeshi racer Avik Anwar climbed to the top of the points table of the Gulf Pro Car Series 2025–26 after winning the third round of the championship at the Dubai Autodrome.

Avik is competing this season in the Class RC (Renault Clio) category.

The organisers introduced endurance racing in the third round of the competition, which is the only touring car championship in the Middle East.

“We completed 47 laps in two hours, equivalent to a racing distance of 300 kilometres,” said Avik.

“Overall, this endurance race is not only proof of our racing ability, but also a historic achievement for the entire Bangladesh team, proving our worth on the international stage,” he added.

Avik also clinched victories in both races of Round 1 of the Gulf Pro Car Series at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi in early November. He finished fourth in the second round.

The Round 3 victory placed him at the top of the Class RC points table.

The fourth round of the series will be held at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit on February 6–7.

Last season (2024–25), Avik competed in the Class 86 category and finished as the runner-up.

Over the years, the Renault Clio (RC) car has become increasingly popular in the UAE.
