Former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health has become stable and she successfully underwent a minor procedure on Friday, her personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said on Friday.

Zahid, also a member of the party’s standing committee, briefed journalists outside Evercare Hospital in the capital on her latest condition.

He said Khaleda Zia is receiving treatment in a Coronary Care Unit cabin equipped with ICU facilities. “Although she is in the CCU, all ICU facilities are available. It can be said that she is in the ICU.”

He further confirmed that her condition has not deteriorated. On behalf of the party and her family, including BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, Zahid requested prayers from the nation for her recovery.
