Inqilab Mancha has demanded that the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi be tried within the next 30 working days through a fast-track judicial tribunal, with assistance from international intelligence agencies.
The demand was announced on Tuesday at Shahbagh by Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Mancha, during the platform’s pre-scheduled Shohidi Shopoth ceremony.
Calling for nationwide mobilization, Jaber urged people to commemorate Hadi’s messages through wall writings and graffiti on December 24 and 25, and to spread them globally via social media.
Inqilab Mancha issued another 24-hour ultimatum on Monday, placing three demands. Referring to those demands, Jaber said they had yet to receive any specific response.
“Within the next 30 working days, those involved in Sharif Osman Hadi’s murder must be arrested and brought to justice through a fast-track judicial tribunal, with the support of professional and reliable international intelligence agencies,” he said.
The platform also announced it would not hold any programs on December 25, the day Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting chairman Tarique Rahman is set to return to the country.
Expressing hope for political solidarity, Jaber said, “We believe that upon returning to the country, Tarique Rahman will stand in solidarity with our movement.”
He added that Inqilab Mancha would announce a series of continuous programs across Bangladesh after December 25.
“After the 25th, we will announce continuous programs, which will be implemented throughout the country,” he said.
The three demands include involving international intelligence agencies such as the FBI and Scotland Yard in investigations through a speedy judicial tribunal; identifying and prosecuting Awami collaborators allegedly hiding within civil and military intelligence; and requiring the home adviser, his Special Assistant Khoda Boksh Chowdhury, and the law adviser to provide an explanation and then resign.
