Dhaka experienced its coldest temperature of the season on Thursday, December 25, as winter grips the city and the rest of the country.
Mercury in the capital dropped to 14°C, down from 15.7°C yesterday, marking a nearly 2-degree fall.
Across most districts, temperatures ranged between 10°C and 15°C, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The past few days have seen the winter chill gradually intensify in Dhaka. Dense fog combined with biting early morning and nighttime winds has added to the discomfort of daily life. Morning traffic slowed significantly due to poor visibility, and even in the afternoon, the sun’s warmth offered little relief.

“In a few areas, temperatures may temporarily fall even lower,” he added.
