A farewell ceremony for the female students of Aparajita Hall at Gopalganj University of Science and Technology (GUBT) was held on Wednesday evening at a restaurant in Gopalganj town.
The event was presided over by Aparajita Hall Provost Dr Rehena Parveen, while the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Hossain Uddin Shekhar, attended as the chief guest and presented mementos to the outgoing students.
In his address, the vice-chancellor encouraged students to make the most of their time and prepare for their future, emphasizing that the knowledge and skills gained during their studies should be dedicated to the nation’s welfare. He also praised the discipline of female students, noting their exemplary conduct in both residential halls and classrooms. Wishing them success as they embark on their professional journeys, he added that the university has launched initiatives to secure a position in global rankings, with a committee under the Dean of the Faculty of Science already working toward this goal.
Hall Provost Dr Rehena Parveen expressed her joy at the vice-chancellor’s presence and highlighted her ongoing efforts to improve facilities for residential students. She said that the students’ happy memories and achievements would continue to inspire her initiatives in the future.
