A mild cold wave is sweeping through the districts of Jessore, Chuadanga, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, and Nilphamari, and it may continue on Saturday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has indicated.
The department said that temperatures across the country may rise slightly during the day and night. However, foggy conditions in many areas will maintain a cold feel.
This information was included in the 24-hour weather forecast issued from 9am on Friday.
The forecast noted that the mild cold wave is currently affecting the seven districts mentioned above and may persist in some areas.
Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies.
From midnight to morning, moderate to dense fog is likely over river basins in some areas, while light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere across the country.
Dense fog may temporarily disrupt air travel, inland water transport, and road communication.
On Thursday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 29°C in Teknaf. The lowest temperature on Friday was recorded at 9°C in Jashore.
