At least 22 people were injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses in Ghatail upazila on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 8:00 am at Haripur on the Tangail-Mymensingh Highway.

Ghatail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Moksedur Rahman confirmed the accident, adding that dense fog may have contributed to the crash.

The injured were rescued and admitted to Ghatail Upazila Health Complex and Tangail General Hospital, with some in critical condition. One seriously injured person has been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Police and eyewitnesses said a passenger bus of Baniya Paribahan collided head-on with a Mymensingh-bound bus of Prantik Paribahan, leaving 22 passengers from both vehicles injured.
