With the participation of 67 leading employers from diverse sectors, the Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) Internship Fair and Career Expo 2025 offered students a rare opportunity to engage directly with recruiters and explore real-world career prospects.
The day-long event was held on Saturday at the Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) campus under the theme “Step into a World of Endless Opportunities,” attracting a large number of students eager to learn about internships, job placements and career development.
Prominent corporate, financial and development-sector organisations took part in the expo, including US-Bangla Airlines, BRACNet, IDP, Shakti Foundation, Esquire Group, Jiban Bima Corporation, Walton, Transcom Group, Anwar Group, Nitol Niloy Group, Eastern Bank Limited, Technonext, among others.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior university officials and distinguished guests, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Sharif Uddin, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khaja Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, the registrar and treasurer, deans of various faculties, department chairpersons, faculty members, directors of different centres, and students.
In his inaugural speech, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Sharif Uddin emphasised the importance of career expos and internship fairs in preparing students for professional life. He said such initiatives play a vital role in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements while helping students build skills, confidence and career readiness.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khaja Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, in his remarks, encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities created through the expo and to remain proactive in developing their professional competencies in a competitive job market.
A special address was delivered by Air Commodore Dr Mahbub A. Jahan, Director (Strategic Planning and Transformation) of US-Bangla Airlines. He shared insights into the corporate sector and highlighted the skills, discipline and adaptability required to succeed in today’s professional environment.
Senior officials from participating organisations also underscored the importance of internships and early career planning, noting that practical exposure plays a crucial role in preparing graduates for workplace challenges. Several companies conducted on-the-spot interviews, with some students receiving internship and job offers during the event.
The expo also featured a “Career Talk” session, where industry professionals shared their experiences, discussed career pathways and offered guidance to students on navigating the evolving job market.
