A three-member delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) met Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin on Sunday.

The meeting began around 12:30pm at the CEC’s office at the Election Commission in Agargaon, Dhaka.

CEC AMM Nasir Uddin was accompanied by Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed. The BNP delegation was led by Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and included BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Ismail Zabiullah and former acting election commissioner Dr Mohammad Zakaria.

According to the revised election schedule, the deadline for submission of nomination papers for the upcoming parliamentary elections is December 29. Scrutiny of nominations will take place from December 30 to January 4, 2026.

Appeals against decisions of returning officers can be filed between January 5 and 9, with hearings scheduled from January 10 to 18. The last date for withdrawal of candidacy is January 20.

The final list of candidates, along with symbol allocation, will be published on January 21. Electioneering will begin on January 22 and continue until 7:30am on February 10. Voting is set to be held on February 12.
