Five candidates, including BNP Standing Committee member Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed, have filed their nomination papers for the Bhola-3 constituency to contest the upcoming February election.
Major (retd) Hafiz submitted his nomination papers to Lalmohan Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Shah Md Aziz on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, BNP-backed candidate for Bhola-1 Alhaj Golam Nabi Alamgir submitted his nomination papers to District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Dr Shamim Rahman.
Earlier in the day, party leaders and activists submitted nomination papers on behalf of BNP candidate Hafiz Ibrahim for the Bhola-2 constituency to Borhanuddin Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Monoranjan Barman.
On the same day, National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Md Mizanur Rahman also submitted his nomination papers to the District Returning Officer.
Earlier, on Saturday afternoon, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho submitted his nomination papers for the Bhola-1 constituency. Party leaders and activists, including District BJP General Secretary Motasim Billah, submitted the papers on his behalf.
Partho was earlier scheduled to contest from the Dhaka-17 constituency.
