A nomination paper on behalf of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was submitted on Monday for the Bogra-7 constituency. 

Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, advisor to the party chief, filed the nomination  paper around 3:00 pm on Monday at the office of Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Taufiqur Rahman.

Khaleda Zia, who is contesting from Bogra-7 constituency, was represented by party leaders including Shajahanpur upazila BNP president Enamul Haque Shahin and Gabtoli upazila BNP general secretary Enamul Haque Natun during the submission of nomination paper.  

Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu said Bogra-7 constituency  has historical significance for the BNP. The constituency is home to BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman’s residence in Gabtoli upazila. Khaleda Zia first won this seat in the 1991 National Parliament election and also secured victories here in 1996 and 2001.
