A recent survey conducted in the context of the Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JnUCSU) election shows that candidates of the Oikoboddho Nirbhik Jobian panel are leading in the vice president (VP) and general secretary (GS) posts.

The survey was carried out by the Jagannath University Research Organization, collecting opinions from 300 students across different departments of the university. The survey aimed to assess students’ voting tendencies and the popularity of the candidates.

According to the survey findings, Mohammad Rakib (AKM Rakib), the VP candidate of the Oikoboddho Nirbhik Jobian panel-supported by Chhatra Dal, Chhatra Odhikar, and general students-is leading with 43% support. His closest rival, Riyazul Islam, the VP candidate of the Islami Chhatra Shibir–backed Odommo Jobian Oikya panel, has secured 33% support.

In the race for the GS post, Khadijatul Kubra of the same panel is in the top position with 59% support. Her nearest competitor is Abdul Alim Arif of the Odommo Jobian Oikya panel. Meanwhile, Md Faisal Murad of the National Students’ Power–supported Oikoboddho Jobian panel stands third with 21% support.

For the Assistant General Secretary (AGS) post, BM Atikur Rahman Tanjil of the Oikoboddho Nirbhik Jobian panel is leading with 42% support. His rivals include Masud Rana of the Odommo Jobian Oikya panel, who received 35% support, and Md Shaheen Mia of the Oikoboddho Jobian panel, who secured 23 percent support.

Students participating in the survey stated that their voting decisions are mainly influenced by candidates’ agendas, campus activities, and previous contributions to student welfare.

However, the survey also noted that some students consider personal familiarity and party allegiance when casting their votes.
