Zaima Rahman, daughter of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, has remembered her grandmother Khaleda Zia by sharing a poem by national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on social media.

“Do not look at me like that, again and again, with eyes brimming with tears/ Do not look with eyes brimming with tears. / In that pained voice, do not keep singing only the song of farewell, / Do not sing only the song of farewell,” the post reads.

Zaima took these lines from a famous Kazi Nazrul Islam poetry collection.

With the poem, Zaima posted an image of herself with Khaleda Zia, where Zaima seems to be talking with her grandmother with animated hand gestures.

Zaima is the eldest grandchild of Khaleda Zia. When her father went to the UK in 2008 and later lived in exile, Zaima was with him. She studied law in the UK.

Since returning to Bangladesh on December 25th, she has not spoken to the local media.

She only appeared after Khaleda passed away. She was also present with her mother at the funeral on Wednesday, wearing a black abaya and scarf.
