Bangladesh Embassy in Saudi Arabia has urged its citizens not to organize or participate in any meetings or gatherings without prior approval.
In a statement on Wednesday, the embassy noted that several Bangladeshis had already been detained by Saudi authorities for taking part in unauthorized gatherings.
The statement explained that recently, such meetings had been held in various locations across Saudi Arabia, including Istiraha halls, hotels, restaurants, and private residences, often under the banner of different organizations.
Some Bangladeshi participants involved in these events had reportedly been detained by local law enforcement, the statement added.
The embassy, therefore, requested the Bangladeshi expatriate community to refrain from organizing or attending gatherings without proper permission from the relevant Saudi authorities and urged citizens to comply with Saudi laws, regulations, and local customs.
