The Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) has taken additional precautionary measures at the Hili border in Dinajpur to prevent counterfeit currency notes from entering the country via the India border.
Alongside regular patrols, the BGB is conducting intensified surveillance. Additional BGB personnel have been deployed, and intelligence monitoring has been enhanced.
Lieutenant Colonel Latiful Bari, commanding officer of the Joypurhat-20 BGB Battalion, said: “An issue concerning the entry of counterfeit currency notes through the border has come to our attention. Since then, we have remained fully vigilant regarding this matter, and appropriate measures have been taken on our part to prevent it.”
“If counterfeit notes attempt to enter or leave through our posts or any other locations, we will intercept them. Our posts have been instructed to remain alert in this regard,” he added.
