The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has relaxed requirements for short-term visa applicants.
Until 31 December next year, applicants for short-term visas will be exempt from fingerprint collection, the embassy said in a notice issued on Tuesday.
According to the embassy, the decision was taken to further simplify the visa application process. From the date of the notice until December 31 next year, fingerprint collection will be waived for all short-term visa applicants travelling to China for no more than 180 days.
Under relevant regulations, fingerprint collection will remain mandatory for applicants under the D, J1, Q1, S1, X1 and Z visa categories, as they are required to apply for a residence permit after entering China. The embassy has advised applicants to contact the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Dhaka for further information.
