Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) in Thakurgaon distributed high-yielding mustard seeds free to 125 young farmers, dubbed July Warriors, at the hall room of Sadar Upazila on Wednesday. The aim was to increase edible oil production and involve more young people in agriculture.
The event was chaired by Nasirul Alam, Agriculture Officer of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila. While speaking as the chief guest, DAE Deputy Director Majedul Islam said, “Ensuring youth participation in modern agriculture is our main goal. We want to make them as successful agricultural entrepreneurs.”
Shamima Naznin, the District Agriculture Training Officer, attended the event as a special guest.
Among the entrepreneurs receiving incentives, Mohammad Dulal Islam of Salandar and Humayun Ahmed of Chilarong welcomed the timely initiative taken by the Agriculture Department and expressed their gratitude to the authorities concerned.
