Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-14 has arrested an alleged drug dealer with 460 grams of heroin, concealed inside a stitched bag and hidden in a sack of guava, in Kalihati upazila of Tangail.
At a press briefing, Major Kawsar Bandhan, company commander of RAB-14 CPC-3 in Tangail, disclosed the information yesterday afternoon.
The arrested identified as Toher Ali, 60, son of Soyeb Ali, hails from Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district. The estimated market value of the seized heroin is around Tk 46 lakh.
Company Commander Kawsar Bandhan said RAB members challenged Toher Ali in the Elenga bus stand area on the Dhaka–Tangail highway on suspicion and conducted a search. During questioning, he admitted to transporting drugs.
Later, four packets of heroin were recovered from the stitched portion of his bag, and another four polythene packets were found inside the guava sack, totalling 460 grams of heroin.
