Students of Dhaka University held a rally on Thursday night mourning the death Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha.
The rally, organized under the banner of Adhipatto Badbiruddho Shikkharthibritto (Anti-Dominance Students’ Collective), began around 10:30pm from the university’s hall area and concluded at the TSC.
During the march, participants chanted slogans against Awami League, the interim government and India.
AB Zubair, social service Secretary of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu), said: “Today, I am not in a state to speak properly. After the lives of two thousand people, why did we have to lose him even today? Because of this failed interim, today Hadi had to become a martyr.”
He added: “Even the police knew that Hadi’s killers were standing beside him. The state’s intelligence agencies knew everything. They knew it all. Because they knew, today our Hadi had to become a martyr. And if the state’s intelligence agencies did not know, then why are they being paid? Today, the so-called intellectuals, while talking on talk shows, have turned us into victims of a killing spree.”
Following his statement, AB Zubair administered an oath to all participants, saying, “We will all be Hadi, we will fight for ages.”
Meanwhile, Jatiya Chhatra Shakti also organized a rally from TSC, chanting various slogans
The rally is currently stationed in the hall area of Dhaka University.
