The Supreme Court has barred the entry of outsiders to the National Eidgah grounds to ensure the security of the Supreme Court premises, the International Crimes Tribunal area, the attorney general’s office, and the Bar Association building.

A notice in this regard, signed by Dr Md Atikus Samad, deputy registrar (Administration and Justice) of the Supreme Court, was issued on Sunday.

The notice said the Supreme Court is the highest institution in the country’s judiciary, where the chief justice and judges of both divisions conduct judicial activities.

The court also houses files of several high-profile and important cases, along with records of hundreds of thousands of other cases.

Recently, an increasing number of outsiders and unfamiliar persons have been observed near the fountain area adjacent to the main gate used to enter the Supreme Court, which poses a security risk to the Supreme Court and the International Crimes Tribunal, it said.

“In this situation, to ensure overall security of the Supreme Court compound, the International Crimes Tribunal, the attorney general’s office, the Supreme Court Bar Association building, and the surrounding areas, the entry of outsiders to the National Eidgah grounds is strictly prohibited,” the notice added.
