Fake band rolls, packets, filters, labels, and printing plates used for manufacturing bidi and cigarettes were seized, and two people were arrested in Bogra on Monday night.
Members of RAB-12 recovered the items worth about Tk 17 crore from Ruhan Printing Press in Palsha Chowkirpar area in the town, said a press release.
Squadron Leader Firoz Ahmed, Company Commander of RAB-12, confirmed it in a press release issued on Tuesday afternoon.
The detainees are Mahmudul Hasan Milon, 42, son of Abu Bakkar Siddique of Baghopara Dakshinpara in Bogra Sadar, and Rashedul Islam Ronju, 42, son of Abul Kashem from the same locality.
According to RAB, Ruhan Printing Press, located in Ward 15 of Bogra Municipality, had been producing counterfeit band rolls, packets, filters, and labels for bidi and cigarette products and supplying them across the country.
The arrested suspects were handed over to Bogra Sadar Police Station on Tuesday. A case has been filed in connection with the seizure. Inspector (Investigation) Mahfuz Alam said the two were sent to Bogra Jail following a court order.
