A female leader of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has filed a rape case in Barisal, accusing fellow activist Suwan Al Talukder ,24, of sexually assaulting her.

The case was filed with Kotwali Model Police Station, Barisal Metropolitan Police. Officer-in-Charge Al Mamun Ul Islam confirmed on Saturday that police have taken cognizance of the case, though no arrest has been made yet, reports our local correspondent.

According to the complaint, the victim met the accused during the movement and later developed a relationship with him. She alleged that he raped her multiple times by promising marriage and later blackmailed her using a recorded video.

The plaintiff also alleged that on December 17, the accused attacked her with a motorcycle helmet after refusing to marry her, causing facial injuries.

Police said an investigation is underway.
