The process of renewing firearm licences, issued by the Khulna District Magistracy and licences from other districts held by Khulna residents, will start on 1 December 2025.

As per the Firearms Licence Issuance, Renewal and Usage Policy-2025, all individuals and institutional firearm licence holders, including banks, financial institutions, dealers, utility service providers, and entities, must pay the fees (including VAT) to the treasury through chalan, according to a notice issued by Khulna Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md Toufiqur Rahman on 12 November.

Licence-holders must also submit an updated mobile number, email address, copy of their national identity cards (NID), and the original licence along with the application for renewal of their licences. Submission of ammunition usage records and copies of General Diary (GD) entries filed with the respective police stations regarding unused or used ammunition from the previous year is mandatory.

The notice states that renewal will not be granted without an accurate GD copy and ammunition statement.

According to the announced schedule, firearm licence holders under Paikgacha upazila will complete the renewal process on 1 December, while Koyra upazila licence holders may do so on 2 December 2025, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at the office of the Paikgacha Upazila Nirbahi Officer.

Licence holders under Sonadanga, Harintana, and Labanchara Metropolitan Police Stations may renew licences on 1 and 2 December, while Khulna Sadar and Khalishpur licence holders may renew on 3 and 4 December.

Licence holders under Aronghata and Khan Jahan Ali Metropolitan Police Station can renew their licences on 7 and 8 December, followed by Rupsha Upazila on 9 December; Terokhada on 10 December, Dighalia on 11 December, Phultala on 14 December, Dumuria on 15 December, Batiaghata on 18 December, and Dakope on 21 December. Renewal of licences for banks, financial institutions, dealers, and utility service providers will be on 22 December.

In addition, licence holders, who will miss their deadline, and firearm owners residing in Khulna with licences issued by other district administrations, may complete the renewal process on 23, 24, 28, 29, and 30 December 2025, between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm at the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
