From Wednesday night until early Thursday morning, five vehicles were set on fire in Dhaka, Munshiganj, Tangail, and Gopalganj, although no casualties were reported.

Rozina Akter, duty officer at the Fire Service control room, confirmed this information to Prothom Alo on Thursday morning.

According to the Fire Service control room, around 12:15am, a bus parked in front of Mirpur 12 DOHS in Dhaka was set ablaze.

Two Fire Service units managed to extinguish the fire within 20 minutes, but the bus was largely destroyed.

At approximately 2:45am, a Human Hauler-Laguna vehicle parked in front of Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka was set on fire.

Multiple Fire Service units brought the fire under control.

Around 2:30am, a bus parked in Raoi, Tangail, was set ablaze while unoccupied. The Fire Service successfully extinguished the fire.

Shortly after 3:30am, a truck parked in front of a paper mill in Gazaria, Munshiganj, was set on fire. Fire Service personnel quickly brought the fire under control.

At approximately 4:30am, a pickup truck parked in front of the Public Works Department office in Gopalganj was set ablaze. The vehicle was completely destroyed before the Fire Service arrived.

These incidents have occurred in the context of the online-announced November 13 “lockdown” program by the banned Awami League, which has seen a series of vehicle arson attacks in recent days.
